Theme: Skilling and Digital Initiatives Day

On the fifth day of Shiksha Saptah, St. Anselm’s Sr. Sec. School, Abu Road, celebrated Skilling and Digital Initiatives Day at the STEAM Lab, aptly named ‘Happy Zone’. This day was dedicated to enhancing digital literacy and fostering innovative skills among students through various hands-on activities. The celebration saw enthusiastic participation from students across different stages, each engaged in activities tailored to their educational level.

Foundational Stage (Class Nursery - II)

Activity: Musical Birthday Card

Tools Used: Scratch App, Muse Kit

Students of class Nursery to II delved into the world of digital creativity by designing ‘Musical Birthday Cards’. Using the Scratch app and Muse Kit, these young learners combined coding with art, infusing their digital cards with musical elements. This activity not only introduced them to basic coding concepts but also allowed them to express their creativity through a fun and engaging project.

Preparatory Stage (Class III - V)

Activity: Dancing Girl Animation

Tools Used: Scratch App

Students from class III to V showcased their programming skills through a project titled ‘Dancing Girl’. Utilizing the Scratch app, they created animated sequences featuring a dancing girl. This activity helped students understand the basics of animation, sequencing, and the importance of timing in digital projects. The students thoroughly enjoyed bringing their animated characters to life and demonstrated significant improvement in their coding abilities.

Middle Stage (Class VI - VIII)

Activity: Surface Transport Project

Tools Used: XP Kit

The middle stage students from classes VI to VIII embarked on a more complex project involving ‘Surface Transport’. With the help of the XP Kit, they designed and programmed models demonstrating various modes of surface transportation. This activity aimed at enhancing their understanding of transport systems while integrating their coding and engineering skills. The students successfully built and programmed models that simulated the movement of different types of surface transport, showcasing their growing technical prowess.

Secondary Stage (Class IX - XII)

Activity: Our Music Band Tools Used: Scratch App, XP Kit, Muse Kit

Students in the secondary stage, from classes IX to XII, celebrated the day by creating a project called ‘Our Music Band’. Using a combination of Scratch app, XP Kit, and Muse Kit, they programmed and assembled a digital band. Each group of students was responsible for different aspects of the band, from creating digital instruments to programming the sequences for a coordinated musical performance. This interdisciplinary activity integrated music, coding, and teamwork, highlighting the students’ advanced digital skills and creativity.
