Shiksha Saptah Day-6 Report: Eco Clubs for Mission Life Day

Theme: Eco Clubs for Mission Life Day

Introduction:

On the sixth day of Shiksha Saptah, St. Anselm’s Sr. Sec. School, Abu Road, celebrated Eco Clubs for Mission Life Day. This day was dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and sustainability among students, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes experiential learning and holistic development. The school’s Eco Club, named “Green School,” played a pivotal role in organizing the day’s events, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living.

Formation of “Green School” the Eco Club:

In alignment with the theme and the NEP’s focus on fostering a sense of environmental responsibility among students, the school officially formed its Eco Club, “Green School,” The club comprises six members each from the Preparatory Stage, Middle Stage, and Secondary Stage, ensuring environmental stewardship across all age groups within the school.

#Plant4Mother Campaign:

To commemorate the occasion, the “Green School” (Eco Club) organized a unique and meaningful campaign titled #Plant4Mother. The campaign aimed at promoting tree plantation and environmental conservation by involving both students and their mothers, thereby aligning with the NEP’s emphasis on community participation and real-life learning. The initiative was led by:

• Principal: Rev. Fr Dominic Mundatt

• Teacher In-Charge: Mr. Sachin Joshi

• President of the Club: Miss Suhani (Class XI Science)

Activities:

• The highlight of the day was the plantation drive, where students, accompanied by their mothers, planted saplings on the school premises. This initiative symbolized the nurturing relationship between mother and child and extended it to nurturing Mother Earth. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and parents alike, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and the NEP’s goal of instilling environmental consciousness in young learners.

Conclusion:

The Eco Clubs for Mission Life Day at St. Anselm’s Sr. Sec. School was a resounding success. The #Plant4Mother campaign not only raised awareness about environmental conservation but also fostered a sense of responsibility and unity among students and their families. The Principal, Rev.
